Cameco Corp., the world’s second- largest uranium producer, agreed to sell its stake in Centerra Gold Inc. for about C$872 million ($820 million), fulfilling a pledge to focus on uranium and nuclear energy.

MP D.Zorigt, Minister for Mineral Resource and Energy, met with Mr. Tom Albanese, Executive Director of Rio Tinto. Both sides exchanged their opinion on the progress of cooperation, first time after signature in the investment agreement of Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold project this autumn.

Working group established by the Standing Committee on Government Organization is working on the innovation of Parliament election system. It is discussing to change the majority system which has been used since 1992 to full proportional system. Furthermore, the women quotas are being discussed. But the party groups haven’t yet reached an agreement on the issue. MPRP is supporting the majority system of 76 constituencies. DP on the other hand thinks proportional system is best suited. But the MPs say State Constitution needs to be amended in order to change the election system. 

Meeting of DP group in the Parliament was held yesterday which discussed about the directors of sub-committees. Head of the group Ch.Saikhanbileg gave information on the meeting.
