Cigarette smoking in Mongolia has been increasing rapidly in the last few years. A 2000 survey found 64.4 percent of men and 18.9 percent of women were smokers but the figures increased to 68.5 and 30.4 percent in a survey made in early 2008.

Good News, Bad News From Rio Tinto |

THE very good news is that Rio Tinto reckons it will reduce debt by $US10 billion over the next year.
But the very, very bad news is that, to achieve that sensible ambition, Rio has designed its own private recession, a retreat from normal business that will involve chopping $US5 billion ($7.6 billion) from capital spending over 2009, slicing $US2.5 billion from operating costs by 2010, sacking 14,000 employees and contractors "quite quickly", and holding dividends at 2007 levels for the next two years at least.

Parliament Speaker D.Demberel arrived in Beijing for an official visit at the invitation of Wu Bangguo, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress scheduled December 10 to 15. From there, the Speaker will head to Laos to pay an official visit at the invitation of his Lao counterpart Tongsing Tammawong on December 15 to 19.
