The Mongolian stock market Print E-mail
The Mongolian Stock market provides for a unique investment opportunity since the market is still in its infancy and it is very easy for overseas investors to open up an account and buy Mongolian shares.
In 2006 the local stock market doubled in value and the first 6 months of 2007 saw another large gain in share prices.
Given the fact that only recently activity in trading has increased (yet still far below levels seen at other Asian stock markets) and the fact that Mongolians are getting richer, it is expected that the market here will continue to grow exponentially.
Furthermore, Mongolia has a population of over 1 million inhabitants and sits on top of enormous gold, copper and coal reserves. These have barely been touched; once mining begins there will be huge tax revenues for the government which translates into high revenue per capita.
