The 5th tourism forum of North-East Asia will take place in Ulaanbaatar on October 15-17, 2008. Mongolia is hosting this event for the first time.

Recently, Taishir Hydro Power Plant in Gobi-Altai province commenced an electricity production test. During it, 300-350 kWt energy was produced.

Trains will run through Mongolia as they bring cargo from Asia to Europe and back again. The Eurasian Landbridge train will be fully operational before the end of the year.

B.C. wood and technology is being showcased in two demonstration homes in the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar, provincial Forests Minister Pat Bell said Wednesday.

Doing Business 2009, sponsored by The International Finance Corporation and the World Bank, puts Mongolia 58th, three places down from last year, amongst the world's 181 economies on the overall ease of doing business.
