All road, railway, and air traffic between Ulaanbaatyar and other areas have been suspended until November 14. Around 12,000 passengers make the trips daily.
Medical workers and people using their own transport are allowed to travel but are subject to checks.

ROSNEFT FINED FOR OVERCHARGING |

The Russian Office Against Monopoly has fined petroleum exporter Rosneft 5.2 million rubles for charging higher prices in violation of fair trade practices. It was found to have overcharged the five companies that import 84 percent of the petroleum used in Mongolia MNT 250 billion. The companies are NIC, Petrovis, Shunkhlai, Just Oil and MT.

PARLIAMENT STARTS DISCUSSION OF GENERAL BUDGET FOR 2010 |

MPs’ attendance stood at 90.8 percent on Thursday as Parliament started discussions on the State Budget for 2010 as well as on draft laws on the Mongolia Development Fund and the Social Insurance Fund. Prime Minister S.Batbold gave general information about the budget. Income will be MNT2 trillion 306 billion which is 32.2 percent of the GDP while expenses are MNT 2 trillion 664.6 billion, a little more than 37 percent of the GDP. The budget estimates were made by calculating the price of copper at USD5,148 per ton and gold at USD900 per ounce.
