Commercial banks' granting mortgage loans in large amounts led to the increase in demand and supply of apartments. The consequent increase in inflation rate created risky conditions for the banks. This has made the banks cease granting such kinds of credits.

A forum themed "Economic Policy of Mongolia" will be run in Ulaanbaatar on October 23, 2008, by the Government of Mongolia in association with the World Bank.

Mongolian delegation headed by P.Byambatseren, a head of Mongolia's National Statistical Committee (MNSC), is paying a working visit to the Republic of Korea at invitation of Dae Ki Kim, the president of the National Statistical Department of the country.               

Parliament approved on Friday the final accounts of the State Budget in 2007. Total revenue was MNT 1,880.5 billion, 9.8 percent or MNT 167.9 billion more than the target. The budget showed an overall surplus, with expenses totaling MNT 1,747.4 billion, MNT 72.9 billion less than planned.
