Anti-Corruption Authority (ACA) Director Ch.Sangaragchaa has made a complaint to the Constitutional Court saying it was impossible to work with the Public Council set up under orders from the President on September 29. Explaining their position, Director of the Council D.Sukhbaatar, Vice-consultant of Council Policy J.Batzandan and member G.Khasbaatar told a press conference yesterday that the ACA’s unhappiness arose when it was asked to submit a report by October 15 on the number of people who got Government jobs. 

The election commission of the 24th constituency has announced that all technology used for the by-election on Sunday will be digital, including voter registration, list of voters and procedures governing the voting. There are about 78,000 voters in Chingeltei district and earlier two copies of the list of names were prepared by hand. 

Trial enumeration of both people and apartments, leading to the final census between January 10 and 16, 2010 will be made from Thursday to Saturday in some parts of Bayanzurkh district and in the Khurkh region of Umnudelger soum in Khentii province. The trial, to be conducted by workers of the National Statistics Bureau, will indicate problems with the process adopted and the changes needed during the final census.

S.Erdene, the DP leader elected from Bayangol in the June 2008 elections, finally took his oath as Member of Parliament on Friday. He had been declared a “provisional” winner but the formal declaration took place only two weeks ago. In this one year he was jailed for electoral malpractice and corruption and then acquitted of all charges. The General Election Committee submitted his name to the President who then forwarded it to Parliament.
