Mongolia has already launched producing liquids from coal.

According to head of the fuel policy coordination department of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy B. Ganbaatar, technical and economic grounds are being worked out in cooperation with the French “AXENC” group to liquefy coal on the basis of large and small coal deposits.

He said one of the most important issues is the training of the national personnel. For this purpose, specialists are trained in the Mongolian University of Science and Technology and the National University of Mongolia as well as in Germany and Australia. The next step is the implementation of a “Coal” program and a state policy on fuel and energy. Consequently, a law on coal is expected to pass. All these documents provide for an issue on liquefying coal. Besides, it is of importance to attract foreign investments in this sector.
