| Mongolian trade fell 21 % through Port of Los Angeles in 2008 |

A recently released report shows total Mongolian trade through the U.S. Port of Los Angeles fell by 21.78 percent in 2008. However, Los Angeles remains the largest volume port in the U.S.
Total trade with Mongolia in 2008 was $42.32 million through Los
Angeles with exports valued at $20.12 million and imports at $22.20
million. This volume was down more than $8 million over 2007 figures.
As a point of comparison, trade with China through the Port of Los
Angeles in 2007 was $135.8 billion.
Trade figures also showed Germany, Iraq, Vietnam, Brazil and Ecuador were among the fastest growing trade partners though Los Angeles while Japan, South Korea and Taiwan saw their overall trade decline.
