Tender notices have been advertised for the new power plant to be built in Bayanzurkh districts X sub-district.

The successful bidder would be chosen on January 15 and the date when construction is to begin will also be announced then. A senior official at the Energy Ministry, Sh.Batrenchin, would only say for the moment that they hoped the plant would start generation by 2012.
The ever increasing power demands of Ulaanbaatar can now be met if all power stations worked to their full capacity all the time. The city thus desperately needs a new plant.
