This year, a state inspection counted and registered about 120 thousand cars in Ulaanbaatar city. As of first nine months of 2008, Mongolians imported 26,123 cars.

It means that more than 100 cars are imported a day. In view of this, MNT 75.5 million was allotted to the state budget for the customs duty. By the way, small-sized and low fuel using cars are being sold actively recently due to price increase of fuel in Mongolia, according to private car dealers.
The State Great Khural /parliament/ will consider an issue on whether to increase the customs tax for cars by 2009.
