Mongolbank again reduces interest rate Print E-mail
The Central Bank of Mongolia has reduced the interest rate by 1.25 percentage points to 11.5 percent. The measure is expected to lower the inflation rate, stabilize the currency, and arrest the economic downturn. If all goes well, the rate will be brought down to 10 percent by late 2009.
The Mongolbank interest rate was 14 percent before it was reduced by 1.25 percent in March.
