Mongolia To Import 150,000 Tonnes of Fuel From Kazakhstan Print E-mail
Mongolian consumers have been disappointed at fuel prices not falling according to expectations raised by deceasing global rates and by Russia reducing fuel export taxes.
Another development to pass Mongolia by has been the recent decision of Kazakhstan to restrict its total withdrawal of the fuel export tax to countries that had been part of the former Soviet Union.
However, according to D.Amarsaikhan, head of the Oil Supply Regulation Department, Kazakhstan will continue to be important in Mongolia’s plans to reduce its dependence on Russian petroleum. Some 150,000 tons of fuel products will be imported from there this year. Mongolian annual demand is estimated at 700,000 tons.
