| About President's Participation In ASEM Forum |

Mongolia's delegation led by N.Enkhbayar, the President of Mongolia, will take part in a high level forum of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) that will be held October 23-26, 2008, in Beijing, China. The Ministry of External Relations of Mongolia called a news conference to inform about it.
According to L.Orgil, an advisor to the President on foreign policy, it
will be the first participation of Mongolia in this high level forum.
It has become a new mechanism in the international relations. The
delegation intends to introduce the country's open, multi-pillar and
active foreign policy. This forum will bring together representatives
of 45 countries and international organizations. Issues will be
discussed on ways of overcoming the world economic and financial
crisis, on food and energy securities, disasters prevention, climate
change and environment.
The President will take part in meetings themed "International urgent problems", "World financial crisis", "Sustainable development", "Negotiations between civilizations", and will give a speech themed "Sustainable development and ensuring the Millennium Development Goals". He will hold bilateral working talks with each of leaders of Japan, India, Indonesia, Estonia and the Netherlands representatives. Bilateral talks are also planned with China, Slovakia and France at a level of External Relations Ministry. Mongolia has actively been participating in various actions and initiatives of the ASEM since entering it in 2006. For the time being, the ASEM has 43 member-states.
