New Head Of Central Bank Proposed Print E-mail
We reported before that the president of the Central Bank (MongolBank) submitted to parliament a request on his resignation.

Along with this issue, a nomination of a new leader of the bank has become a headache for political circles. According to the Law, the Parliamentary Speaker nominates a candidate to the post of president of MongolBank, and parliament approves the candidate for six years term. Accordingly, the Speaker D. Demberel suggested appointing L.Purevdorj at a meeting of Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) group in parliament, the "Undesnii Shuudan" daily reports. Former president of the MongolBank D.Molomjamts and ex-Minister of Finance Ya.Davaasambuu have also been proposed to the post.
"Undesnii Shuudan" writes that members of the MPRP group principally backed L.Purevdorj taking into account his experience in heading the General Department of National Taxation and the State Property Committee and his role in making tax reform during his office term as MP.
According to the law, the Speaker Demberel has submitted his proposal on the nomination to the National Security Council. Both the President and the Prime minister supported L.Purevdorj's candidature, the paper says.
Following this event, the Speaker is expected to submit the candidature to parliament for approval in the nearest future.
