Parliament Speaker D.Demberel has received a delegation headed by British Parliament member John Battle.

At the meeting, D.Demberel said that the present visit of the British delegation will play a large role in fostering the bilateral relations and cooperation. Early this year, the two countries celebrated the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic relations, during which a wide spectrum of activities was successfully carried out to widen cooperation between the two countries. The Government of Mongolia is attaching a great significance to the expansion of the bilateral trade and economic collaboration. He stressed in addition that Mongolia has a willingness to learn experience of British Parliament in strengthening the good governance and developing parliamentary democracy.In his turn, Mr. Battle conveyed greetings of Chairmen of the House of Commons and the House of Lords of British Parliament.
In saying that this is the first visit to Mongolia paid by the delegation, consisting of representatives of many parties having seats in British Parliament, Mr. Battle underlined that his visit will lay a foundation for the further cooperation. Besides running official meetings, the British lawmakers worked in rural areas to meet with locals.
 The sides also touched upon the positions of parties and activities of the coalition Government.
The same day, a head of the Mongolian-British parliamentary group R.Amarajargal met with the British delegation to exchange views on inter-parliamentary relations and cooperation. He noted that the increasing development of the Mongolian-British relations and cooperation in all spheres has been manifested in the present visit of the delegation. He used to head the parliamentary group during the term of office of previous State Great Khural and is heading it again, he said and underlined that it gives him a great opportunity to make his own contribution to the advancement of the inter-parliamentary cooperation. He expressed his position towards the development of the mining industry and utilization of the natural resources for creating a new development trend, shared his view on the current situation of the bilateral economic and foreign trade cooperation and on the tendencies of the socio-economic development of Mongolia, and informed the guests of the state policy on free trade and economic zones, foreign investments, and mining industry.
