U.S. Congressional team calls on Elbegdorj Print E-mail
us_delegation.jpeg        A six-member U.S. Congressional delegation from the House Democracy Assistance Commission called on President Ts.Elbegdorj yesterday. The leader of the visiting team, Representative David Price, congratulated the new president on winning the democratic election, and expressed U.S. appreciation of the developing relations between the two countries and of the active participation of Mongolia in international peacekeeping operations. He also hoped that the Millennium Challenge Program will help Mongolia’s development.

     In his remarks, President Elbegdorj thanked the USA for its constant support of Mongolian democracy and promised to work to further develop the relations. He was sure Mongolian democracy would become a model for other countries.
“The Millennium Challenge program is aimed at reducing poverty and unemployment as well as training Mongolian personnel. The number of young people who want to get education in Mongolia is increasing rapidly. I will work to support this,” said the President.
